Cyrillic first
Ukrainian uses Cyrillic, with extra letters (і, ї, є, ґ) not found in Russian. Don't try to learn Ukrainian vocabulary by reading transliterations: you'll plateau immediately. A free Cyrillic alphabet deck on AnkiWeb takes a few days and is the prerequisite for every other resource.
Also worth noting: vocabulary decks built for Russian don't transfer cleanly. Cognates exist but stress patterns, vowel reductions and several core verbs differ enough that "Ukrainian via Russian" will teach you wrong reflexes.
